Announcement meeting for the RCO research activity at Lasithi Plateau’s town hall

In order to co-ordinate, inform and plan the actions being carried out by the Rural Crete Observatory (RCO) regarding the Lasithi Plateau, a meeting was held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 between the Mayor Mr. Yiannis Stefanakis, Deputy mayors of the Municipality of Lasithi Plateau and a delegation of the RCO, consisting of “Educational-Development” PLOIGOS president Mr. Haris Roditakis and the program coordinator Mrs. Chryssa Pagalou, as well as members of the research team of the Technical University of Crete, in charge of Assistant Professor Miss Despina Dimelli. It is emphasized that the Lasithi Plateau was originally designated as the pilot site of the RCO.

The meeting was also attended by the Regional Councilor Mr. Yiannis Androulakis.

The discussion went on long enough, with all members involved positioning themselves on their roles and with the final assurance that the project will receive support.

Mr. Stefanakis also pledged to make available to the Technical University research team any interesting data (surveys, studies, etc.) available to the Municipality for use in the elaboration and extraction of directions and suggestions with scientific documentation provided by the Municipality can then use it for its development planning.
